Terms.

What using this website and this network does and does not entitle you to.

Effective 22 September 2026 · IOAI Global, Washington, DC · [email protected]

1. Two different things

These terms cover this website and the open endpoints published on it. Operating a node, holding an identity licence and transacting on the network are governed by separate written agreements. Where a licence agreement and these terms conflict, the licence agreement governs for licensed participants.

2. Using the site and the open endpoints

  • The verification and identity-resolution endpoints are open. You may call them without an account, including programmatically and including as an autonomous agent, subject to published rate limits and to these terms.
  • Do not use the site or the endpoints to break the law, to attack the network or its participants, to interfere with anyone else’s use, or to misrepresent what a result means.
  • Automated access is permitted. Our robots.txt is the authoritative statement of what crawlers may do.
  • We may rate-limit, suspend or block access that threatens the service or other users. Where we can tell you why, we will.

3. What an attestation means, and what it does not

An attestation evidences that a computation ran as specified. It is not a warranty of quality, accuracy, fitness for any purpose, or acceptability to a buyer. Nothing on this site or in our documentation should be read as IOAI certifying the usefulness or correctness of work performed by any participant.

IOAI is not a party to transactions between participants. We do not adjudicate them, and we provide no dispute resolution, arbitration, escrow or refund mechanism. If you need those, agree them with your counterparty before you transact.

4. Settlement is final

Payments that settle against an attestation are not reversible by IOAI. The protocol contains no buyer-acceptance step, no chargeback and no refund path. Build for that before your first transaction, not after it.

5. Licences are not investments

An identity or node licence is an operating licence. It is not offered as, and must not be understood as, a security, an investment contract, or a promise of any return. IOAI publishes no yield, projected return or payback figure, and nothing on this site should be relied on as financial, investment, tax or legal advice.

6. Intellectual property

The content of this website is ours or our licensors’. You may quote it with attribution, and you may reproduce our published boilerplate verbatim. Our machine-readable descriptors — llms.txt, the agent card, the MCP descriptor and the OpenAPI document — exist to be fetched, parsed, cached and relied on by anyone, human or otherwise. Our name and marks remain ours.

7. Availability

The site and the open endpoints are provided as-is and as-available. We do not guarantee uptime for them, and we may change or withdraw them. Service commitments for licensed participants, where they exist, live in the licence agreement rather than here.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site and open endpoints are provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, IOAI is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business, arising from your use of the site or the open endpoints. Our total aggregate liability arising from them is limited to one hundred United States dollars.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify IOAI against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your misuse of the site or the open endpoints, or from your breach of these terms or of applicable law.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date above will change, and where a change is material we will say so on this page rather than rely on you noticing. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of the District of Columbia have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.
